Description
American white oak is more variable in colour than European Oak, ranging from pale yellow-brown to pale reddish-brown, often with a pinkish tint.
This is the original size JonoKnife model. It is designed to cut all types of bread up to 20cm wide with the ease and precision of no other knife. It can cut up to 22cm wide at a push if the loaf is tilted. Furthermore, its stainless steel blade makes it pretty multi-functional as it works very well on various fruit, veg and cheese too! If, however you regularly slice loaves between 20cm-30cm wide and/or bread with an extremely hard crust (like sourdough) then consider the XL JonoKnife model. The XL is 10cm longer and has a carbon steel blade so will stay sharp far longer when used on harder crusts. The XL though, should only be used for bread unlike the more versatile Original model.
All JonoKnife models come with a specially designed magnetic blade guard. The guard helps to store the knife safely. Some store their JonoKnife in the drawer, some hang it up, but many like to keep it on the kitchen counter or breadboard close at hand where it can be shown off all day!
When handcrafting the JonoKnife bread saw, we go the extra mile to round off and sand all sides, edges and curves of the entire wooden bow and handle to a furniture grade finish. The result is an extra stylish and ergonomic design. The knife is finished with three coats of Danish Oil yielding a beautiful finish protected for use in the busiest of kitchens.
